Hagen Hauptbahnhof (Hbf.; main station) is located on Graf-von-Galen-Ring in Hagen, just below Philippshöhe. Other big streets near Hagen Train Station include Märkischer Ring and Altenhagener Strasse. The station is about 5-8 minutes walk from Adolf-Nassau-Platz and Friedrich-Ebert-Platz, the central squares in the inner city. Streets between the squares and the station are Körnerstrasse and Bahnhofstrasse. You can easily recognize the train station thanks to its characteristic historical building (dating back to 1910).
Hagen Station is on the high-speed railway corridor between (Düsseldorf -) Wuppertal and Dortmund. ICE train services are very frequent here. The trains usually continue to more distant destinations like Berlin, Hannover, or Kiel in the north, or as far as Munich or Basel in the south. There are also non-high speed IC/EC services to other cities (for example Leipzig or Passau).
Besides the long distance trains there are also many regional trains, especially the Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn that connects individual cities in the Rhein-Ruhr conurbation. Hagen Train Station is the terminus of two S-Bahn lines: S5 (Dortmund – Hagen) and S8 (Mönchengladbach – Düsseldorf – Wuppertal – Hagen).
